Early childhood is the most precious and important time in everyone’s life. Each child comes to this world with
his/her gifts and the potential to fully blossom. As a gardener protects his tender young seedlings from the
weather, and gives careful attention to their environment so the seedlings grow strong and to their full potential,
we, parents, caregivers, teachers, must provide a nurturing environment to our children.
In the Rainbow Play Garden, we offer an environment that protect and stimulate children’s developing tender
senses by providing simple wooden toys, and natural material playthings along with developmentally
appreciated, meaningful experiences. Children play in a little kitchen area and pretend to be mothers and
fathers, dress up as kings, princess, fairies or witches; they sing songs, play games, paint and color, make soup,
bake bread and clean the house. Doing so, they learn the world around them, strengthen their imagination, learn
social rules, concentration, resiliency, and the life long love of learning.
